RAK Innovation and Sustainability Schools and University Challenge 2024

Ras Al Khaimah Department of Knowledge (RAK DoK) joined forces with the University of Bolton Academic Centre RAK for a dynamic initiative – the Ras Al Khaimah Innovation and Sustainability Challenge (RISC) 2024. Held alongside the prestigious IWAM 2024 conference, this exciting program engaged over 500 students from schools and universities in Ras Al Khaimah.

RISC 2024 provided a platform for students to address pressing sustainability challenges with innovative solutions. Across seven categories, including poster design, project development, photography, and industry-specific challenges, students showcased their creativity and commitment to a sustainable future.

The initiative aimed to empower student innovation by fostering a culture of creative problem-solving. It also emphasized the development of real-world solutions that can be implemented for a more sustainable future, while simultaneously creating valuable networking opportunities with industry experts.

Competition was fierce yet friendly across six categories: Poster, Project, Case Study, Photography, Coloring/Drawing, and Presentation, along with a separate industry challenge. Cash prizes were awarded at the IWAM conference, recognizing top winners with financial rewards for First, Second, and Third place, with the Industry Challenge Winner receiving a substantial prize of AED 10,000. RISC 2024 proved to be a resounding success, igniting a passion for sustainability and innovation among Ras Al Khaimah’s youth.
